Product Description

FTI EF Series Economy Drum Pumps

The FTI EF Series Economy Drum Pumps are economical, sealless drum and barrel pumps designed for light-duty container transfer. Therefore, the range provides a convenient powered alternative to manual hand pumps for drums, barrels and smaller containers.

Depending on the selected motor, maximum flow reaches approximately 64.4 lpm, while maximum head reaches 6.1 metres. Moreover, the range supports fluids with a specific gravity up to 1.6.

EF Series Sealless Drum Pump Design

The sealless design removes the mechanical shaft seal used in many conventional pumps. Consequently, there are fewer sealing components requiring maintenance during normal light-duty operation.

In addition, the axial-flow impeller provides useful transfer rates from a compact pump tube. Therefore, the EF range can improve speed and convenience compared with repetitive manual pumping.

Key Features

The Finish Thompson EF pump range provides:

  • Maximum flow up to 64.4 lpm
  • Maximum head up to 6.1 metres
  • Maximum specific gravity of 1.6
  • Viscosity up to 300 cP with suitable electric motors
  • Sealless and lightweight construction
  • Axial-flow impeller
  • Integral inlet strainer
  • Electric, battery and air-motor options
  • Interchangeable pump tubes and motors
  • Polypropylene, PVDF and 316 stainless-steel options
  • Several available tube lengths
  • ATEX-certified options with selected EFS configurations

Together, these features make the FTI EF Series Economy Drum Pumps suitable for straightforward container-to-container transfer where low weight, simple operation and economical ownership are important.

Integral Strainer for Pump Protection

The pump includes a built-in strainer at the inlet. Therefore, larger particles are less likely to enter the tube and damage the impeller or internal components.

However, the strainer does not make the pump suitable for heavy slurries or fluids containing significant solids. Consequently, users should confirm that the liquid is appropriate for a light-duty drum pump before operation.

EFP Polypropylene Drum Pump

The EFP uses a polypropylene pump tube and impeller, a 316 stainless-steel shaft and FKM O-rings.

With a suitable electric motor, the EFP delivers up to 64 lpm and 6.1 metres of head. Moreover, it handles viscosities up to 300 cP and temperatures from approximately -18°C to 66°C.

Therefore, the EFP may suit compatible light acids, bases, cleaners, coolants, sodium hypochlorite and DEF or AdBlue.

EFV PVDF Chemical Drum Pump

The EFV provides PVDF-based construction for applications requiring different chemical resistance from standard polypropylene models.

Moreover, its narrower tube diameter is approximately 33–34 mm, allowing it to fit suitable smaller container openings. Therefore, the EFV may support light-duty transfer of compatible aggressive chemicals where PVDF construction is preferred.

EFS Stainless-Steel Barrel Pump

The EFS uses a 316 stainless-steel tube and shaft with an ETFE impeller. Consequently, it provides durable metal construction for compatible solvents and industrial liquids.

Maximum published temperature reaches 100°C, while performance with a suitable electric motor reaches approximately 64 lpm and 6.1 metres of head. In addition, selected EFS configurations are available with ATEX-certified options.

Electric, Battery and Air Motors

The FTI EF Series Economy Drum Pumps support several compact drive options.

Suitable configurations include:

  • Dual-speed electric motors
  • 115 V and 230 V electric options
  • Portable 12 V battery motor
  • Pneumatic air motor
  • Explosion-proof or ATEX options on selected assemblies

Electric and air motors can support viscosities up to approximately 300 cP, while the published 12 V package is rated up to 100 cP.

However, actual performance depends on the selected pump tube, motor and liquid properties.

EF Series Flow and Head Performance

Published maximum performance includes:

  • Electric motor: Up to 64 lpm and 6.1 m head
  • Air motor: Up to 57 lpm and 5.2 m head
  • 12 V motor: Up to 53 lpm and 4 m head

Therefore, an electric model generally provides the highest performance. Alternatively, the battery motor provides greater portability, while an air motor offers a non-electrical drive option.

Available Tube Lengths

Depending on the model, available tube lengths include approximately:

  • 41 cm
  • 69 cm
  • 102 cm
  • 122 cm
  • 137 cm

Consequently, users can match the pump with different container depths. The EFS range is generally listed up to 122 cm, while EFP and EFV configurations extend to approximately 137 cm.

FTI EF Series Applications in India

The economy drum-pump range may support applications across India such as:

  • Light acids and bases
  • Cleaners and detergents
  • Coolants
  • Sodium hypochlorite
  • DEF and AdBlue
  • Compatible solvents
  • Water-treatment chemicals
  • Workshop fluids
  • Container-to-container transfer
  • Replacement of manual hand pumps

For example, a battery-powered model can support mobile fluid transfer. Similarly, a stainless-steel EFS configuration may suit compatible solvent duties when the complete assembly meets the application requirements.

Selecting the Correct FTI EF Series Pump

Correct selection depends on:

  • Liquid name and concentration
  • Required flow and head
  • Liquid viscosity
  • Specific gravity
  • Operating temperature
  • Container depth
  • Pump-tube material
  • Motor type
  • Electrical supply
  • Hazardous-area classification

Therefore, users should configure the pump according to the complete transfer duty. Otherwise, incompatible materials or an unsuitable motor may reduce performance, reliability and pump life.

Why Choose Finish Thompson EF Drum Pumps?

Finish Thompson EF pumps combine economical operation, low weight and straightforward use. Moreover, interchangeable motors and several construction materials provide greater flexibility than a basic manual hand pump.

As a result, the range is a practical choice for facilities across India that require simple, dependable and cost-effective light-duty drum and barrel transfer.
