Product Description
MC Series Sewage Pumps
The MC Series Sewage Pumps provide dependable submersible pumping for sewage, wastewater and sludge-mixed liquids containing suspended solids and short fibres.
Pedrollo manufactures the range with robust cast-iron construction for strength and long operating life. Moreover, the two-channel impeller provides efficient hydraulic passages for solids while maintaining useful flow and discharge head for wastewater applications across India.
Two-Channel Design for Sewage Handling
The precision-cast two-channel impeller creates two defined hydraulic passages through the pump.
Consequently, wastewater can move through the casing efficiently while carrying compatible solids and short fibrous material. The design can also provide higher hydraulic efficiency than many open-vortex arrangements.
However, the MC Series Sewage Pumps do not grind or cut waste. Therefore, long fibres, wipes, ropes, metal objects and oversized debris should remain outside the collection chamber.
Key Features and Benefits
The MC Series provides:
- Heavy-duty cast-iron construction
- Precision-cast two-channel impeller
- AISI 304 stainless-steel impeller
- AISI 431 stainless-steel shaft
- Flow rates up to 1,600 l/min
- Maximum capacity up to 96 m³/h
- Discharge heads up to 25 metres
- Solids passage up to 65 mm
- Maximum liquid temperature of 40°C
- Maximum immersion depth of 10 metres
- Two-pole submersible motor
- IP68 ingress protection
- Continuous-service capability
- MC 50 and MC 65 solids-passage options
Together, these features support demanding civil, commercial and industrial wastewater systems.
MC Series Sewage Pump Performance
The complete MC 50–65 range delivers flows up to approximately 1,600 l/min, equivalent to 96 m³/h. Selected configurations also develop heads up to approximately 25 metres.
Meanwhile, the MC 45 range reaches approximately 750 l/min, or 45 m³/h, with heads up to approximately 15 metres.
However, maximum flow and maximum head occur at different points on the hydraulic curve. Therefore, engineers should select the exact MC sewage pump according to the required duty point.
Solids Passage and Fibre Handling
MC 50 models handle compatible suspended solids up to approximately 50 mm. In comparison, MC 65 models provide solids passage up to approximately 65 mm.
The MC 45 range also handles compatible solids up to approximately 50 mm.
Consequently, the MC Series Sewage Pumps can transfer wastewater containing suspended material that may obstruct smaller drainage pumps. Nevertheless, solids must also pass freely through the discharge pipework, valves and fittings.
Cast-Iron and Stainless-Steel Construction
Pedrollo manufactures the pump housing and motor casing from cast iron. Therefore, the unit provides strong mechanical protection for permanent submerged installations.
In addition, the precision-cast impeller uses AISI 304 stainless steel, while the shaft uses AISI 431 stainless steel.
As a result, the hydraulic assembly combines mechanical strength, corrosion resistance and reliable wastewater-handling performance.
Submersible Motor and Operating Limits
The motor uses a two-pole design with an IP68 protection rating. Therefore, it supports continuous submerged operation when installers follow the required immersion and cooling conditions.
Published operating limits include:
- Maximum liquid temperature: 40°C
- Maximum operating depth: 10 metres
- Minimum continuous-service immersion: 320 mm for MC 50
- Minimum continuous-service immersion: 360 mm for MC 65
- MC 45 draining level: Approximately 305 mm
However, installers should also confirm cable length and model-specific operating requirements for the actual sump depth.
Installation Options
The MC Series Sewage Pumps can support free-standing or fixed wastewater installations, depending on the selected model and accessories.
A permanent guided installation can simplify pump removal from deeper sumps. Alternatively, a free-standing arrangement may suit temporary duties or installations that require easier repositioning.
Moreover, correctly sized discharge pipes and non-return valves help maintain hydraulic performance. Excessive restrictions can reduce flow and increase total system head.
MC Series Sewage Pump Applications in India
The MC Series Sewage Pumps may support applications across India such as:
- Municipal and private sewers
- Wastewater collection sumps
- Activated-sludge transfer
- Putrid-sludge pumping
- Sludge-mixed water
- Tunnels and excavations
- Underground parking facilities
- Canals and drainage systems
- Industrial wastewater systems
- Commercial facilities
- Apartment-building sewage systems
- Washing and service areas
Moreover, the robust construction supports applications where wastewater contains suspended solids and short fibres.
Selecting the Correct MC Sewage Pump
Correct selection depends on:
- Required flow
- Total dynamic head
- Maximum solids size
- Wastewater composition
- Sump dimensions
- Discharge connection
- Electrical supply
- Installation method
- Minimum immersion
- Required solids passage
Therefore, engineers should select the MC Series Sewage Pumps from model-specific hydraulic data. Otherwise, an unsuitable configuration may clog, cycle excessively or fail to provide the required head.
