The KGK series are centrifugal pumps designed for vertical installations, with column and volute casing submerged. The motor is mounted above the liquid pumped; the axial suction pipe is placed downward whereas the tangential and outlet pipes are passing through the base plate.

Overview

Argal KGK Series: Vertical Centrifugal Pumps for Aggressive Liquids

The Argal KGK offers high-performance vertical centrifugal pumps designed for handling aggressive liquids. Engineered with precision and crafted from premium materials, these pumps deliver outstanding reliability and efficiency in diverse industrial applications.

Key Features of the KGK Series

Efficient Vertical Design:
These pumps facilitate vertical installations with the column and volute casing submerged in liquid. The motor sits above the liquid, simplifying maintenance and ensuring safety. The axial suction pipe directs flow downward, while tangential and outlet pipes pass seamlessly through the base plate.

Extended Shaft Capability:
Operators can customize shaft lengths up to 4000 mm. When shaft lengths exceed 2000 mm, additional intermediate bearings provide stability and minimize wear.

Versatile Configurations for Various Needs:
This series includes three configurations to cater to diverse performance requirements:

  • G1 – G2: Radial volute for broad liquid-handling applications.
  • G3: Axial fumes setup for specialized industrial use.

Performance and Specifications

  • Capacity: Up to 275 m³/h
  • Length: 500 to 4000 mm
  • Motor Power: Ranges from 0.55 kW to 45 kW
  • Wetted Parts: Available in PP or PVDF
  • Column Materials: Choose from PP, PVDF, PP + FRP, or PVDF + FRP

Advanced Sealing and Safety Features

Enhanced Safety Through Leak Prevention:
These pumps eliminate the need for traditional sealing systems, reducing risks of liquid spillage. Moreover, operators can choose from various vapor sealing options to suit specific applications.

Continuous Gas Containment:
A dry vapor steam seal, located near the base plate, actively contains gases during operation. It manages pressures up to 60 mbar. For higher pressures, optional mechanical seals or dry constructions are available, ensuring seamless performance in challenging conditions.

Durable Materials for Aggressive Applications

Manufacturers build these pumps using corrosion-resistant materials like PP and PVDF, reinforced with FRP when needed. These materials offer exceptional durability, extending the operational life even when exposed to the harshest liquids.

Applications

They can drag liquids with suspended solids or moderately abrasive thanks to their construction in polymers and the different types of mechanical seal available. The parts in contact with the pumped liquid are totally resistant to chemical agents with low or high temperatures.

FEATURE

BENEFIT

1
PUMPING SECTION
1.1 Inverted Volute Chamber & Impeller with Side Suction Pump is placed on top of dirt not in it no need for water filtering screen. What it swallows it will pump.
1.2 Vortex Pumping Ability to pump grit, fibers and small stones, without jamming.
1.3 Inverted Impeller & Volute are made of SG42 CastIron Allows for flood feed through the sides, no suction required and hard wearing.
1.4 Detachable Impeller cover with “o” ring seal. Three 17mm bolts remove the “O” ringed cover, gaining quick access to impeller for cleaning.
1.5 Optinal High volume non-return valve. Helps to keep dirt out of the pump, when it stops pumping.
1.6 Ability to lift the pump out of the water while running. Pump will maintain water pressure when lifted out of the water lowing transfer to next pump position with little back flow.
2
MOTOR SECTION
2.1 Environmentally Friendly Lubrication-free motor. Motor can run continuously without oil, eliminating environmental oil pollution and has an extended motor life.
2.2 Stainless steel Cylinder and hardened & rust-free motor parts. Rust free and highly wear resistant.
2.3 An Inverted Impeller allows no high pressure water on spindle seals. Spindle seals control low exhaust air pressure in motor housing, from entering the pump volute. There is no high pressure water being controlled.
2.4 Ability to run continuously out of water. Motor housing seal is cooled by air passing through the motor into the exhaust.
2.5 SG42 Cast Iron Body. Very tough and durable
2.6 Ergonomically designed carry handle. Easy to carry and is also the exhaust housing.
3
FILTER INLET SECTION
3.1 Built in high capacity in line micro filtering system, with a flushable and replaceable filter element. Day to day element cleaning is easy and accessible and replacing is via external screw off cap.
3.2 Filter Element Filter Filters out dirt down to 120 micron particles.
